What is Sugaring?
Sugaring is a type of permanent hair removal using an all natural sugar paste consisting of water, sugar and lemon. It is safe and sanitary as the sugar cannot harvest bacteria plus it is a natural preservative and healer. I choose to use an organic sugar paste for my clients.
What is the difference between Sugaring and Waxing?
Sugaring
*It's Natural and water soluble, a paste combining sugar, water and lemon.
*Hair only needs to be 1/16 inch for effective removal resulting in faster permanency and less wait times between treatments.
*No heat required and hair is removed in the direction of growth, resulting in less discomfort.
*Sugar naturally hydrates and exfoliates the skin.
Waxing
*Wax is made up of resins that are not water soluble and can be irritating to the skin
*Hair needs to be a minimum of 1/4 of an inch for effective removal.
* Wax is heated and hair is removed against the hair growth, resulting in the hair follicles swelling resulting in painful hair removal.
*Wax exfoliates both the live and dead skin cells resulting in dryness.
I am a shaver transitioning to sugaring, what should I expect?
Shaving creates multiple growth patterns that can take a couple of months to correct. After your first sugar treatment an undergrowth will be present which will leave the skin prickly. It will take a couple of months for your hair growth cycles to align. If you are consistent with your treatments, in a few months the result will be smooth skin, less in growns, no nicks and less hair growing back with every treatment. To prepare for your first appointment, allow your hair to grow for a minimum of 4 weeks, exfoliate 2 times a week, moisturize daily and ditch the razor.
What exactly is a Brazilian? I am not sure I am comfortable baring it all.
A Brazilian treatment is for men and women, removing all hair in your genital area and backside. A Brazilian is the ultimate way to feel great in a bikini and reduce excess perspiration. Bacteria harvests in hair so without it you can feel fresh and a lot cleaner. Like all sugaring treatments (ideally booked within 5 weeks apart) the amount of hair growing back will drastically reduce, resulting in permanent hair removal. For women, for your comfort, I can provide you with disposable underwear. For men, it is hard to sugar with underwear however I can provide a towel to cover you plus your hands play a big role by stretching the skin and allowing for a more discreet service. Try it once, you will always want to bare it all!
Why do I have pink dots on my skin after my sugaring treatment?
It is natural to experience a bit of irritation to the hair follicle after hair removal by the root and can last up to 12 hours. Apply a clean damp cloth to the area periodically to sooth the skin. Irritation is extremely minimal with sugaring.
Does Sugaring cause ingrowns?
Ingrowns are primarily caused by a lack of exfoliation and individual skincare choices. Everyone is different but with proper care of your skin, ingrowns should be minimal and manageable. BARE Professional Sugaring retails prevention and Ingrown hair treatments that can be purchased at the time of your appointment or delivered free of charge within the service area. Connect with me for a personalized consultation.
Will I see permanent results?
With regular treatments between 4-6 weeks you will notice that your hair will grow in finer and lighter or stop growing at all. Sugar has the ability to remove the tiny hairs that are in the first growth stage which can result in permanency. It is impossible to determine how long this will take as each person is different; their lifestyle choices, hair type etc. will all play a factor in the re growth.
How do I prepare for my sugaring appointment?
Refrain from Exfoliating 24 hours prior to your treatment and avoid lotions/creams/oils/deodorants in the area to be sugared the day of your treatment. Do not shave the area to be treated. If your hair is longer than a centimetre, trimming your hair prior to your appointment will ease the discomfort; this is something we can discuss prior to your appointment. You need to take caution not to trim it too short.
How do I get sugared in my own home?
I will arrive at your home at your scheduled appointment time. I travel with a portable table, linens and all of the products to sugar you with. I will need the use of a kitchen sink to wash my hands and a microwave to warm the sugar (I can warm it up prior to arriving at your home if you do not have one). I can sugar you in any room that you are comfortable in. Bright lighting is ideal however I use a magnifying light to insure that all hairs are removed. It is best that large dogs are in another room while you are having your treatment. Small dogs and cats are free to roam. It is ideal for you to be sugared in a quiet space however that is not always the case when you have children in your home. More than often small children will want or need to stay in your care, that is perfectly fine!
How do I take care of my skin after my sugaring treatment?
Avoid swimming, hot tubs, baths, exercise, excessive perspiration or sexual intercourse (applicable to bikini area only) for 24 hours after. This helps to prevent bacterial/viral infections.
Exfoliate the area starting 48 hours after your treatment between 1-3x a week to prevent ingrowns. Moisturize daily with a natural moisturizer without petroleum. BARE Professional Sugaring retails aftercare products that can be purchased at the time of your appointment or delivered free of charge within the service area. Do you experience dark or discoloured intimate areas?. Its natural for the vaginal, underarms, thighs, and buttocks to become discoloured over time; we refer to this as hyper-friction™.
What is Hyper-friction™ and what causes this discolouration?
Intimate Discolouration from coarse hair, thin skin, and excessive rubbing in particular areas cause chronic inflammation and irritation.
Shaving – Shaving can cause discolouration due to the amount of pressure being used, the direction in which you are shaving, and how sharp the blade is. Razor Bumps are also a common skin condition that occurs as a result of shaving; clusters of small, red, or dark bumps around hair follicles. In addition, the surrounding skin is often red and inflamed.
Tight clothing- Especially during workouts
Genes – Genes play a significant role in the number of melanocytes you inherit, which can cause hyperpigmentation to form more quickly and some areas to become darker than others.
Not exfoliating or Over Exfoliating – dead skin cells build up every day, which can cause discolouration. Regular exfoliation 2-3 times a week will help to smooth and brighten the area. Over-exfoliation can cause the skin's barrier to be damaged which could lead to discolouration.
Waxing – If it is not done correctly, you may experience PIH (Post Inflammatory Hyper-Pigmentation), which will cause discolouration.
What areas of the body can be treated?
The underarms, aeolas, elbows, knees, entire brazilian area (front and backside), inner thigh and buttocks.
What is an intimate brightening treatment?
A series of botanical (NO Hydroquinone) peel treatments conducted by a professional in your home followed by a daily home care regiment.
What are the key ingredients that Brighten the skin?
Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid (derived from bitter almonds), Green tea, Arbutin (extracted from the Barberry Plant) and Licorice extracts.
What is the result of an intimate brightening treatment?
It will brighten the skin, help with folliculitis, razor bumps and improve skin texture and pigment irregularities
How many treatments will I need?
The severity of the discolouration would determine how many treatments you would need to achieve your desired goals. We recommend three professional applications with follow-up home care maintenance.
Will my skin peel after the treatment?
After day three, there will be some noticeable dryness and minor to major sloughing of the skin.
What must you avoid before and after the peel treatment?
Pre-treatment: Avoid All depilatory treatments 48 hours prior such as hair removal of any type (sugaring, creams, waxing, and laser). Skin must be clear of open lesions, sores and wounds. Appointments can be 5 days prior or after your menstrual cycle. You cannot be pregnant or lactating .
Post-treatment: Clients should abstain from any indoor or outdoor activities that cause friction to the treated area, including intimacy, tight clothing, hot yoga, hot saunas, and long durations of hot water submersion. It is best to book your appointment at a time that you can relax with little activity after. Not following this advice may cause (PIH) Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation, which will make it very difficult to have optimum results.
Why is the Home Care Necessary?
Hoo Haa Cleanser helps to digest the dead skin and prevent itching.
Bikini Bottom helps to continue brightening effects, prevents ingrown hairs, eliminates bumps, redness, and discolouration.
Hoo Haa Lotion moisturizes, hydrates, decreases the itch, and continues to brighten.
AHA/BHA Refining Masque Used three consecutive days post-treatment to brighten and inhibit melanin production.
Arnica Recovery Gel helps to calm traumatized skin and will assist in the healing process.

Is whole body vibration (WBV) training credible?
The Russians have been using it since before the fall of the Berlin Wall to strengthen their athletes. In
Europe it is widely used in gyms, by sporting teams, chiropractors, physiotherapists and Personal
Trainers.
Does it really work?
Take some time and research the internet, there is research from all around the world on the many
benefits of Whole Body Vibration.
Is it safe?
Yes, T-Zone Health distributes Oscillating Vibration Technology which is considered the safest form of
vibration. We are CSA certified. Our vibration machine is safe for most people, although, like all new
exercise programs it’s important to consult your Health Care Professional. From the physically fit to the
sedentary, almost everyone can enjoy the benefits of this wonderful machine. You can be overweight,
have aches and pains, stiffness, or even be recovering from an injury, and still get benefits.
Can I use it for more than 10 minutes?
What we know is that a great many studies have been done on 10 minute sessions, so we know this is a
very safe length of time – including for much stronger vibrations than our machine offers, even workers
who are using jackhammers. There have not been long term studies done on our machine for longer
sessions. Our opinion is that it is safe to use our machines for longer sessions at low speeds, as long as
the customer is using common sense and monitoring how they feel during and after a workout.
Can I use it everyday?
Yes, it is safe to use every day. However in some cases it is advisable to take at least a day or two off a
week, just to let your muscles recover from the workouts. Again, this would depend on the intensity and
duration of your workouts, and your individual health details.
Is WBV like a treadmill?
No, Oscillating Vibration is a gentle workout that will not be hard on your joints. Instead of walking, you
simply stand on a moveable vibrating plate that encourages muscle contractions using the body’s own
weight.
How does ‘Power Plate’ compare to the T-Zone machines?
Power Plate is a Linear/Lineal machine which provides a different type of vibration. Anything that
creates muscle contractions will produce results, but the delivery of the vibration should be gentle
enough for all ages to use. Linear Vibration is not recommended for younger or older users, or those
with sensitive health issues.
What frequencies does the VT20 use?
The VT20 starts at 3.4Hz (at speed 1) and goes up to 15.5Hz (at speed 99). That means at 15Hz your
muscles are contracting and relaxing 15 times per second (that’s 900 times per minute).
What frequencies does the HE-90 use?
The HE-90 starts at 5.2Hz (at speed 1) and goes up to 9.8Hz (at speed 99). That means at 9.8Hz your
muscles are contracting and relaxing 9 times per second (that’s 540 times per minute).
Will the vibration cause structural damage to my house?
While vibration has been known to damage large structures, our machine is quite small with a maximum
frequency of 23.6 body reactions per second. It would not damage anything.
Will I sweat during the vibration workout?
Yes. Any exercise or physical effort performed to cause a training effect will cause an increase in body
temperature and metabolism. This in turn will cause you to perspire so you will sweat during your
Vibration workout.
Can I use the machine while I am pregnant?
There have been many questions about Whole Body Vibration and pregnancy. Since a study could risk
the health of the fetus, researchers will not undertake any studies using pregnant women. As such,
there is currently no research available with WBV and pregnancy. Consequently WBV is NOT
recommended in pregnancy.
Can I use the machine while I have the pacemaker?
Pacemaker is something there is very little research on. We assume that all implants can be vulnerable
with vibration because the movement may dislodge or move the implant, or cause the implant other
problems. It is similar to the pregnancy issue – because the potential can be fatal, there are no tests to
see if people with pacemakers are safe on the machine and therefore we do NOT recommend them.
Can I use the machine if I have had recent surgery?
This would depend on the severity of the surgery. Vibration has been used successfully for many rehab
patients with supervision from a Health Care Professional
Is the machine good for migraines?
Migraines may be caused by many internal issues. It would be best to have this evaluated by a Health
Care Professional which will offer a treatment plan that would address the reason the headaches are
occurring in the first place. Vibration therapy may trigger Migraines because the body has now been
encouraged to detoxify. It is important to note that when the healing process begins, things may appear
to be getting worse before getting better. It is advisable to pre-hydrate before vibration therapy with a
good quality water source to help encourage this cleansing process.
Will I lose weight when training on the vibration machine?
It assists in weight loss. Training with WBV has been shown to increase lean muscle mass, therefore
increase metabolism, which means you will burn more calories while exercising. The hormones
produced with Vibration Training will also have a significant influence on reducing fatty tissue. It is
recommended though, for optimum weight loss that you combine Vibration Training with a cardio
workout.
Can I reduce cellulite?
Absolutely! Studies have shown that cellulite can be significantly reduced through Whole Body
Vibration. This is achieved through improving the body’s ability to drain toxins and lymphatic waste by
promoting better circulation. This in turn reduces the undesirable swelling in those areas of the body
affected by cellulite. Increased collagen also plays a role by improving the skin’s tone and elasticity.
Again, being properly hydrated will help this process.
Is WBV good for bone density?
Whole Body Vibration became popular because of its ability to prevent and reduce ‘Space Induced
Osteoporosis’ in astronauts. There are studies to back up these claims.
Is WBV good for the heart?
Yes! Whole Body Vibration raises your heart rates slightly along with blood oxygen levels. There is
scientific data that tells us overall heart rate will improve over time.
Should I use WBV if I have an eye injury?
Not without consulting your Healthcare Provider first.
You do not recommend using the machine if you have gallstones...why not?
Many of the contraindications listed in our brochures are the same for general exercise. They are
precautions more than absolute restrictions. The experts feel that vigorous exercise may trigger the
movement of kidney or gallstones. Passing gallstones is common unless they are too large. Sometimes
they will get stuck in the lower end of the bile duct preventing the free flow of bile into the intestine.
Vibration Technology is an excellent form of therapy to avoid the formation of kidney and gallstones,
with the stimulation of the lymphatic system.
Can the oscillating motion of the vibration platform cause long term damage to the
internal organs?
With Whole Body Vibration getting so much attention out there, it is understandable that there will be
some misinformation and misinterpretations.
The Oscillating/Pivotal Technology was developed over 40 years ago and almost every country in the
world has performed scientific studies on it.
They've used cows, sheep, rats, mice, old people, young people, sick people and disabled people. Not
one study proved to cause any negative effects or damage on anyone.
The T-Zone Vibration plate simulates a fast pace walk which is a normal motion for the human body.
When the Russians and Americans developed this technology for their space stations, they wanted to
'work out' the astronauts to endure space travel. They would never intentionally use technology that
was proven to hurt organs. They all use our safe Oscillating/Pivotal Technology.
If there is any negative 'press' out there with aggressive vibration, it is always referring to Linear/Lineal
technology. If you look at the graph of that type of vibration, the arrows go up and down and side to
side like a 'jack hammer' or piston. We all know what this type of vibration does to the body in industry.
Vibration Technology is safest when it is delivered in a friendly way.
T-Zone Technology delivers the safest Oscillating/Pivotal Technology always remaining within a 50 Hz
frequency maximum.
T-Zone vibration starts at 5.9 body reactions per second (2.95Hz) and ends at 23.6 body reactions per
second 11.8 Hz), within safety standards.
Quote from a study: “WBV has been demonstrated to significant gains in muscle performance in
sedentary and elderly people. Your entire body musculature, as well as your internal organs and glands,
are affected positively by WBV stimulation. In a 24 week study (Verschueren et al, 2004) hip bone
density showed a significant increase in postmenopausal women who used WBV three times a week. In
a 12 month study (Rubin et al, 2004) WBV training effectively prevented bone loss in the spine and
femur."

encouraged to detoxify.
In
a 12 month study (Rubin et al, 2004) WBV training effectively prevented bone loss in the spine and
femur."
